Introduction to The Bladder Whisperer

Hi! I’m Tara. I have a doctoral degree in physical therapy; I started my career in an outpatient orthopedic clinic. This means that most of my patients needed help with various aches, pains, and stiffness in different joints throughout the body such as the shoulder, back, hip, knee and neck. I received specialized training in pelvic rehabilitation and Women’s Health through continuing education courses. Since then I’ve also been helping patients with pelvic floor dysfunctions, bladder control issues as well as assisting women during pregnancy and postpartum.

I’m passionate about helping people improve their health and get back to the life and activities they love. Many times pelvic health issues are embarrassing, isolating and difficult to talk about with friends, family or even a medical professional. My goal is to educate and empower women with the knowledge to help themselves or for them to learn who to seek out to get the help they deserve.

My sister-in-law is currently pregnant with her first child. I can’t wait to be Auntie Tara. There are so many things I’ve learned and know that I want to share with my sister-in-law. We talked about pelvic floor strengthening while pregnant to prevent urinary incontinence after delivery. I want her to just know all these things so she won’t have any of the issues my patients have. I also want her to know what to look out for and when to ask for help. I don’t want to freak her out or worry her with everything that could go wrong. I believe this blog can help her. I hope it’s a less threatening way to share information that will help prevent problems and further prompt ongoing dialogue. Even if she chooses not to read it, well then I hope it helps you in your search for a solution. I am very passionate about this highly misunderstood problem, and my goal is to inform, prevent, and educate women.

Why The Bladder Whisperer? Dog trainers train dogs, I train bladders.
